Hiking, boating, berries & more boating!

I am so behind! I can't believe my last post was the quilt show...sorry! We have been busy! Wednesday we went on a hike with Tyler's class (anyone who could come). It was great! We did Tam rim, right above Three Creeks lake and it was beautiful! Here are some pictures.

Rick, we all feel this way at the lake!

We also went to visit Julia last week and picked berries before we went home! Yummy! I (meaning me and my 3 excellent helpers) almost filled two five gallon buckets and only paid $23 (the berry farm had just dropped their prices that day)! It was awesome. I made a bunch of jam right when I got home and froze about (5) 1 gallon bags full of berries.

Tanner and his smiling, berry eating face! We have been eating cobbler ever since!

This was a hike called Canyon Creek...the wildflowers were spectacular! Not only did they look beautiful, but they smelled incredible! This is a view of Broken Top.

This is the hiking crew. We stopped here for lunch, but the mosquitos were so bad, that we really ate fast! The next morning Sydney came to me with her eye swollen so much that she could hardly see out of it...she had two mosquito bites on her eyelid and one just under her eye on her cheek. I guess the spray didn't stop them from feasting on us!

It has been a great summer. I will try to keep updating, but we are having so much fun playing!

Quilt Show Weekend

I don't want to post these pictures, because I want you all to come see it in person. Oh well, I know you can't, so here they are...

Isn't this landscape cool?

This was a quilt to remember a family trip to the coast. All the pictures were of family on the beach. Pretty cool way to remember!

This was all felt!

Super cool piece of art!

See the horse?

After the quilt show we went boating...

Uncle Rick and the boys

Brett & Julia came too!

Remember last year's picture? This is the "after" shot...doesn't he look great?!
Thanks for coming this weekend guys! We always have a blast with you!

Coast Trip

Nyle needed to go to Florence last week to work on his mom's siding, so we went along. We spent a day with Grandma Vonnie exploring the coast. It was soooo fun! First, we went on a hike to Shore Acres. It was so green and lush with views of the beautiful coastline all along the path.

Crazy roots holding this tree onto the edge of a cliff over the ocean

Tanner smelling the roses. He actually wanted to take the time to look at each one individually!

One of the old houses at Shore Acres...it was fun to come here after reading "A Gathering of Finches"

Nyle wanted a picture of this gazebo...he roofed and sided it many years ago

The Simpson Beach, below Shore Acres...beautiful!

Then, we went to Bandon and went to the Walk-thru wildlife Safari! It was a kick!

The boys were so amazed they could touch these big bucks AND feed them!

Tyler had a fan club following him wherever he went

We got to hold a baby leopard. He crawled right onto my lap and I was a little unsure how to handle it.

A huge lion

This tiger wanted to hunt Tyler. He watched every move he made and even jumped up to chase him!

We got to hold two baby lions too! It was a great day! We had a blast and loved spending time with grandma! Thank you Vonnie! We love you!
