Fun Hair & Football

So, I found a cool hairdo online and decided to try it on Syd...isn't it cool? It was really pretty easy too!

We also had football on Saturday. We lost, but they had some good plays. The boys were really frustrated. Their team is one of the only teams that is doing pass plays, rather than hand-offs, so I guess the learning curve is a little longer. We'll see.
Tanner getting ready to pass the ball...the passes were right on, but the receivers were not always ready. They are all still learning.
Tyler running for the boy with the ball. Tyler is number 10 (of course, that was Nyle's #).
Tanner getting ready to hand off the ball, or faking it...I don't remember how this play turned out. It was fun to watch again, but sad that they lost. Maybe next week!
When I got my pictures off my camera, I found that Sydney was having a little photoshoot on the sidelines. So, here you have a couple shots of her friends. Silly Sydney!

Going Crazy!

Ok, so Nyle is out of town a lot lately. I have been going a little crazy. Last night I watched 2 movies: Ms. Pettigrew lives for a day (I think that's the title) and Made of Honor. I loved Made of Honor! I just want to eat Patrick Dempsey up because he's so cute (remember, my hubby is out of town so I have more hormones than normal?!). It really was a good movie though. A cute chick flick that Nyle probably would have sighed through, but I smiled through! The song at the end...Stolen by Dashboard Confessional is awesome!
Then, I got to scratching my head. One of Sydney's best friends had lice last week. Yikes!!! It is a total mind thing. We've all been checked, I've washed everything in the house, vacuumed, etc. But, my mind was telling me that I could have it. I didn't have anyone to really look in my scalp, so I just took precautions. This is at 11:00 at night. I smeared my hair with mayonaise (mom's idea), and put a grocery bag over my head with a big rubber band around it. I looked hot!!! I stripped my bed and shoved everything in the washer. After that, I washed my hair and climbed into clean sheets. My mind felt better.
You would think I'd be tired now, wouldn't you? Well, when I'm home alone, my brain is very imaginitive. I had to read for about 30 minutes just to wind down!!! I'm a mess.
Come HOME NYLE!!!! I'm lost without you!

Someone had a Birthday Saturday!!!

Does this little screamer look familiar to anyone? She kind of looks like another little girl posted recently throwing a fit!
I hope you had a great birthday!! I love you tons. I just wish we lived close enough to do this still (minus the screaming)! You are the best!

Are you ready for some Football?!!

We are! The boys had their first two games on Saturday. They won one and lost one, but it was the most exciting football I've ever watched! I only got 2 pictures, and they are both lame. I just thought I would post one so you could see what they look like out there. Tanner is the quarterback in this picture. He was very successful! We had parents coming up to us all through the games, saying..."wow, Tanner really has a good arm", "I knew he could throw, but he's really accurate too." Yeah, that's our son!!! (I'm trying not to be too prideful!) I'm just so happy to see that they are not all talk. For the past two years they have been telling me how good they are (they play everyday at recess and they each have a team). I've tried to tell them that they need to share the positions and not be ball hogs. Yeah mom, whatever!
Well, the heartbreaking part about all this is that they both wanted to be quarterback. I don't blame them, it's a pretty fun position. But, Tyler played the position for part of the game, and really had a hard time. He did great in other positions, but not so great with the one and only one he wants! He is my only baby lacking in self-confidence. It pains me. He is an amazing kid, but doesn't have a lot of faith in himself...in anything. He's athletic, artistic, smart, cute, etc.(yes, this is the mom's unbiased opinion). We now have to tell him how cool the other positions are: cornerback, safety, wide receiver. I don't think he's buying it. He's sad and defeated. What can I do? I think he's had his heart set on quarterback forever even though we've told him that you can't have two quarterbacks. I'm cheering on the outside for Tanner (because he really did play an amazing game) and crying on the inside for Tyler.
Twins are much harder than anyone can ever imagine!

Flowers in Kendra's Room

My friend is building a house right now and she has a little girl that is Sydney's age. She had me do some painting in her room. It's a lot like Grace and Paige's room, just brighter flowers. It was so fun to do that again. I will go back and add a few things after they get their trim up. I think they need a bird sitting on the top of their window. Don't you?

10 Years Old!!!!

So, last week my babies turned 10! I know, they are far from babies, but they are my first and sometimes they still act like it. I told them I wasn't going to do a party this year...we were just going to do something fun as a family. I surprised them by having some friends over after school for some cake and ice cream and, of course, a little football!
It came complete with cheerleaders!! Good thing there was a spotter. This doesn't look too stable.

Sydney got ahold of the camera and took a few shots of her friends

Cake time!!!

Remember When?

I saw this on Stephanie Z's blog and thought it was such a fun idea! I am doing a MEMORY post. Here are the basic rules:

1. As a comment on my blog, leave a memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you know me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses.

3. Remember what your mom taught you; "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all." lol Ready? Set? GO!

First Day of School

Yesterday was the first day of school and I was able to get one picture! They let me as long as I got it at home. It's too embarassing at school! Nyle said something about butts in the background, so that is why the smiles are so genuine. Whatever works!
It was a great first day and they all loved their teachers. I think they really just loved being back with all their friends.
Don't they look big?

Labor Day Weekend with the McLoughlins!

We had such a great Labor Day weekend, spending time with the McLoughlin Family. We went to Billy Chinook on Friday, the caves on Saturday, church on Sunday, and the observatory Monday. The adults also got to go out to eat Saturday night to Kokanee (my favorite). It was so much fun! Thanks for coming guys! We love you!

Matisse & Bliss on the tube

Halle & Syd...these guys were born about 6 days apart and they love each other! Check out Syd's glasses! She loved them, but they are really Matisse's.
Syd was also convinced to tube, finally! She went with Halle and Katie! Go Katie!
Lewis, Bliss & Tanner
All the boys together at the observatory
All the girls
The view from the observatory...we got a skiff of snow the night before (up on the mountains).
Syd, Halle, and Bliss

Nyle and the boys, and one more of Syd and Halle, because they wanted us to take pictures of them non-stop! They really did look cute though!
